With the opening of the Panama-Colon Autopista just two years ago, the commute to the Caribbean coast has been cut by more than half. This highway has created quick and easy access from Panama City on the Pacific coast to Panama Outdoor Adventures on the Caribbean coast. Whether by taxi, bus, or even private car, traveling the roads of Panama offers opportunities for adventure every day.

Travelling from Panama City

  1. Enter Corredor Norte which turns into the new Panama-Colon Autopista  (There are various toll booths on the highway.  Bring cash to pay the toll.)
  2. Continue north towards Colon on the Autopista  (Approximately 30-40 minutes drive)
  3. Take the exit for “Sabanitas”
  4. Immediately after the McDonalds, turn right at the “Rey” supermarket in Sabanitas to continue towards Portobelo
  5. After 15 minutes you will pass through Maria Chiquita, there will be a police station on your right side at the stop sign.
  6. Approximately 3 minutes past Maria Chiquita, turn right at the dirt road with the bus stop (pictured below).
